Frequently asked questions

+ When does enrollment close for The Fast Track Your Job Search Program?

The program is always open and will be here for you when you’re ready.

+ What's included in the Fast Track Your Job Search Program?

You’ll get access to the 8 Core Training Modules, which includes 18 online lessons, along with 24 worksheets and 6 templates to put you on the path to success

+ Who exactly is the Fast Track Your Job Search Program for?

The program is designed for professionals who are seeking some sort of change in their career, which could be:

  • Landing a new job
  • Changing to a new industry
  • Getting a higher-level role, a promotion, or bigger scope in your next role, for example: Moving from Director to VP level or becoming a manager for the first time
  • Changing the type of work that you do, for example: aybe you want to shift from engineering to product or project management, or you have your PhD and want to move away from research and into a different type of role (or visa versa)
  • Moving to a new part of the country where you don’t have a network

Many previous participants have also felt under-recognized, under-acknowledged and/or undervalued in their current or past role and are trying to figure out how to gain the recognition (and compensation) that they have earned.

+ Is the Fast Track Your Job Search Program good for someone who is thinking of starting their own business?

Most likely, no. If you need support and advice on how to start your own business, or if you’re trying to decide whether you should start your own business or stick with your current career, there are better programs for you. If however, you’re looking for a new job or a different kind of job that takes you closer to work you love, and might help you lay the ground work for starting your own business a few years from now, then the Fast Track Your Job Search Program is a good option to help you make the career change you’re looking for.

+ What if I live outside the US?

The program, templates and advice are specifically designed for professionals seeking work in the US. Several former participants who are moving back to the US, after having worked abroad for several years, have found the program to be helpful. But if you’re current looking for a job in Europe, Asia, or elsewhere, the templates and advice won’t be entirely applicable for those markets.

+ Is the Fast Track Your Job Seaarch Program good for someone who just graduated?

If you’ve recently completed your MBA, another Masters degree, your PhD or your MD, and have 2 – 10 years of professional or research experience under your belt, then the program is perfectly suited to help you land a corporate or start-up role. If you just graduated from an undergraduate program and don’t have professional experience under your belt, this isn’t the right program to help you launch your career.

+ How is the Fast Track Your Job Search Program different from hiring you or someone else as a coach to help me with my job search?

I believe in “teaching a man to fish”, and this program is designed to give you lifelong skills. This program is designed for people who want great outcomes, but also want to understand the “why” behind each part of a great resume, the “how to” for answering a difficult interview question, and the “what” that differentiates them from their competition. As a recruiter for 7 years, I saw first-hand the best practices, and worst mistakes related to

  • Interviewing
  • Resume writing
  • Career management
  • Networking
  • Salary negotiation

The program doesn’t just tell you “do this”. The program teaches you “do it this way, and here’s why”.

Other job search coaches might write your resume for you, or help hold you accountable to a certain number of tasks each week. In the Fast Track Your Job Search Program, I’m teaching you the how and why of creating a resume that positions you for the job you want, the how and why of making a career change, and the how and why of every step of your job search.

You’ll have all the tools you need to do it, but you still need to do the work. Because I believe so strongly in teaching my clients the “why” behind each aspect of their job search, my one-on-one clients ALSO take advantage of the lessons, guides and tools in the online Fast Track Your Job Search Program. Our one-on-one coaching sessions allow me to provide an added layer of perspective, guidance and feedback on the work they’re doing in the program.

+ Will this eliminate the need for me to hire a resume writer?

Yes. We have several students who’ve reported that the Fast Track Your Job Search Program has saved them thousands of dollars they would have otherwise spent on coaching or resume writers. I’m a firm believer that you know your background better than anyone else ever could. The biggest challenge and hurdle that prevents people from writing a great resume, is that we never are really taught the step-by-step formula for doing it in a way that helps us get what we want. So we get hung up on one bullet point, or one question, and we scour the internet looking for the right answer only to find a thousand conflicting opinions. I designed this course to change that.

As part of the program, you get the step by step guide to writing a rockstar resume and in fact, you do a lot of the resume work before you ever open up Microsoft Word. I provide you with my favorite resume templates, and I teach you what to focus on (and what not to), along with how to say it, so you don’t have to agonize about your resume anymore.

My hope is that, after completing the exercises and lessons in the Fast Track Your Job Search Program, you’ll have the toolkit you need to strategically manage your career and land a job that you love both now, AND in the future.
